Campbell's Scoop: I'm back
Hello all,
So I’m back. I just finished two weeks of midterms and now I got two weeks off to chill. Actually no, still got two more left, but whatever, the point is that Camps is back and I’ve got quite a few things to say.
So first and foremost, regarding my mission statement of all things Liverpool FC, lets just say that my team isn’t doing all that well. Although the Reds won the Champion’s league last season, they finished 5th in the league. Improvement was promised but this has failed to materialize. Currently we are 13th in the league and have only taken 10 points from a possible 24. We have only scored 3 league goals this season, two of which has been from set pieces and one from a freaking penalty kick. Today we lost to Crystal Palace in the league cup and so we’re out of that competition as well. I only hope that we are undergoing a bad patch and if that’s the case we’d better get out of it soon. Chelsea are runaway leaders with 28 points and is on fire and to be realistic and honest I don’t really see any other team catching up with them. They are now within ten games of breaking Arsenal’s record of 39 league games without a loss, which was only set last year! So yeah the Reds aren’t doing so well and I’m not happy. However, I’ve not lost hope in them, and I never will. We are doing very well in the Champion’s League and after last year’s final, I really feel that we will come back. Anyway, onto other stuff now.
So I got an iPod Nano. Yeah, it’s really sweet, all black and stuff and all those complaints that you hear about the thing getting scratched easily are true. I’ve looked everywhere for a case for the thing (well everywhere but the Apple Store) but have had no luck. So I’ve really tried to keep it from scratching but its impossible and looking at it right now I can see two huge scratches on the back and a few faint ones on the front side. I’m very disappointed I mean after all it did cost $365. Stupid Apple, my first apple product is a bummer. Some guy has apparently filed a lawsuit against Apple regarding his iPod being scratched. Not sure if he’ll get anything out of it but one thing that is for sure is that Apple will be getting some real notice regarding its “faulty” products and hopefully they’ll do something about it. Because right now, they just regard everything as wear and tear. Wear and tear my ass. The only place that my iPod has been is the inside pocket of my jacket and TRUST ME, I made sure that there was nothing inside there to scratch it up. Oh well…what can you do eh? But anyway that’s just my issue with my iPod but other than that I must admit that its super cool to have and I just love it when people turn back, just to get a second look – the first step … I WILL OWN A SPORTS CAR one day. Hahaha.
Oh yea and it looks like I’ve found a new favourite band. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club they’re called and trust me man, these three from San Francisco are just unreal. One thing that I believe about bands is that ideally they should evolve their music over the years. This holds the attention of its fans and always has the possibility of picking up new fans along the way. This is my “ideal” band. However I understand that not all bands can keep up this and if this is the case, all I ask is that they keep making the same good ole music that made them famous in the first place. Sadly, however most bands cannot do either of this and Guns n’ Roses is no exception. Axl Rose has lost it and eventually one gets tired of constant replays of the same music. The same goes for Velvet Revolver. They were great last year when “Contraband” was released but I desperately need new material and hopefully they can provide. So all in all, the only band that has been able to quench my thirst at this three piece from San Fran and hopefully they can keep it up.
Oh on another note, my fellow Islamic friends are celebrating (is that the correct way to say it?) Ramadan right now and for those who don’t know they have to fast from sunrise to sundown for a whole month. They can’t eat or drink anything and to make it worse, they can’t say obscene language. You see, being the great friend that I am, I’ve tried my best to help them achieve this goal. What I’ve been doing so far is that I’ve kept a log of every thing that they shouldn’t say and by showing them what they’ve done, my hope is that they’ll learn from their mistakes….
Of course this is bullshit! I’m just doing it to piss them off and for a good laugh! AHHA. Anyway here are some memorable quotes that my friend Shiraz has said:
-“This is bullshit!” “Oh fuck!” “Shit!” – All this was said in quick succession, the latter ones following upon realization of the initial sin.
-“God dammit, I WANT some steak NOW!”
-“I’m gonna come and eat with you guys after class!” (1 pm in the afternoon)
-“What the fuc….” “Hey hey I didn’t say it!!”
-“I’m gonna go chow. When the sun goes down, I go chow.”
-“Oh man, my stomach just growled for the first time today”
-“Man what are you complaining about food for?!! Give me a break!”
Trust me, these quotes were a lot better when in context! Anyway my full respect goes out to my Muslim friends. I would never be able to do it man.

I've also heard stories of the "easily scratched" iPod. I personally think it's a scam in order to: 1) force you to buy a case, 2) prevent them from being resold (so that new ones would sell better and make Apple more money!). I say you should've saved for a new guitar.
10/26/2005 02:26:00 PMYay for BRMC - easily the best band of the decade. Look forward to seeing their new video.

hey hey, 3-0 CL win yesterday!
11/02/2005 12:19:00 PMAnd... while I agree they aren't playing very well in the EPL this year, they are still two games behind everyone else.... if that makes a difference at all...
And as for your Muslim friends and their quotations, I've been hearing similar things from my friends too.... It's too funny ;)
