The good times... in Cornwall?

There's one more week left in my work term. One more week as a full-time wage slave. One more week in Cornwall before I leave this city.

I recently thought about when I would return to Cornwall, and my answer was: probably never, because really.. I'll have absolutely no business being here anymore,

unless...

1) I'm driving to Montreal and happen to need gas OR
2) I'm driving to Montreal and want to stop and say hi to Jacques & Marielle

Jacques & Marielle have been my hosts over the last 3 1/2 months. Me and a paramedics student have been boarding in their house during this time and I'm surprised how well we got to know them and their family.

They've been married for about 35 years or so, have 2 sons and a 2-year-old granddaughter. They spent the first 5 years of their marriage travelling to the Caribbean and living in Montreal where they worked for Royal Bank. In fact, Jacques worked at the head office. However, when Royal Bank decided to move its head office to Toronto, they left the Montreal party scene for the quiet city of Cornwall where they raised their kids and still reside today. Jacques now works for Journal de Cornwall (a local French newspaper), while Marielle operates a house-cleaning service during the day and does wax hair removal in the basement.

There are things I will miss about Cornwall, like walking out of the Glengarrian at 2am and having a random drunk dude ask me if I know Richard Park. I always get a good kick out of being the only Korean guy here! Anyways, I told the drunk dude, "of course I know him!".. and I think he believed me and he just went on bragging about his friend who supposedly played with him. Love it!

And then there's Napolean... the place where all the drunks from Glengarrian and Remington's migrate to at 3am in the morning. I will always remember for its meat lovers pizzas! Best shit ever!
