James turns 23!
It's a bit late but Happy 23rd to James!
Celebrations were conducted on Friday night. The night started out at the Bomber. Among the topics of debate was Smiley's definition of how late is fashionably late, who would manage the band Empire, and Jane's beef with the aesthetics of buildings in Shanghai. Then the gang proceeded to Molly Bloom's where James Pyo blew out the candles and we shared some cake. The Night concluded ironically at a place called Kickoff's with a few more people dropping by, hydrology, me pimping this blog around, and the disappearance of Smiley and the passing out of Pyo. Last thing I recall is standing around in a circle passing a spliff around out on the front porch before crashing on the couch, where Smiley also reemerged the subsequent morning.
Chan is really really pumped about James' birthday!

I believe the conversation arose when Chan had expressed dismay at Sharon and Matt's late arrival (I believe the exact quote, paraphrase for brevity, was "where the f*** are Matt and Sharon!?!?!?). I believe it was James Nattress that suggested that they were simply being fashionably late. You had promptly interjected, claiming that the two parties had at this point clearly exceeded the bounds of fashionable lateness. To which James queried "how late is fashionably late" ? Now I believe you had suggested something in the range of 20 minutes. I stated that a 10 minute grace period be alloted for brown people, given that this subset of population operates on a different time scale altogether, euphemestically known as "brown standard time". (Although this fact was not relevant in the case of Sharon and Matt).
