Campbell's Scoop: Le Gay
Hello all
I can't remember where I saw this but there is this picture of Sen and Tristan enjoying a poutine together in the gay district of Montreal...(that's what the description underneath the picture said). A little too gay for me guys...But HEY! So what?? Homosexual people are people as well! And you know what? I don't care if they have their own little district and have awesome poutines. In fact, I respect the fact that all the hard work that they've put to ensure that homosexuals are not discriminated is starting to pay off. But then again, something has gotta spoil it...
So I read in the Globe n Mail yesterday about a Montreal woman aged 20, who recently filed a complaint to the Quebec human rights commission, claiming that she had been a victim of discrimination. While strolling through the gay district of Montreal,it is natural for a daughter and father to stroll by a bar and want to have a drink on the patio. So that's what they did. The two sat on the patio and had some drinks, only for a waiter to ask the girl to leave. Why? Because she was a woman and the bar, did not serve to women. HUH???!?!?! Apperently, the waiter didn't even address the daughter and instead, asked the father to tell his daughter to leave.
The gay bar had a policy of not serving to women and hey claimed that the bar was just catering to the wishes of regular patrons and so, they did nothing wrong. Um, so isn't this very similar to how blacks were not served in restuarants because the regular white patrons didn't want "negroes" around? What the hell is going on? Is it OK for one minority to discriminate another? Apperently, this is VERY common among gay bays where often, females are turned away. I mean sure, just because you're a minority it doesn't mean that you don't have racist/sexist ideas, but to OPENLY act out in them, especially in a time when the jury is still out on whether your special interests are in fact acceptable, is just pure brazen.
So much for one of the "better" sterotype of gay people being, well,"gay."

Sen
This story is absurd. Belonging to a "persecuted" minority does not give one licence to persecute others.
