Eulogy to Tristan’s Shorts

There is a lad named Tristan
Who often refuses to listen
“Thou shalt not wear shorts” I do proclaim
But he treats my advice with scorn and disdain

At Eaton Centre in Montreal
One Friday evening were we all
Tristan found a shop he liked
“I want to get something” and we all obliged

And though he tried the shorts in Ernest
His fashion sense was not the best
But to our advice he did not heed
And to the checkout counter he did proceed

Later that evening we partied
In the room the mood was hearty
And many beers did we lend
‘Twas an atmosphere of good spirits and merriment

Over drinks we did bond
Though of his new shorts I was not fond
So I asked the lad to put them on
Soliciting the opinions of Anna (a fashion connaisseur was she)

At first he did refuse
“You want to see my legs” said he, amused
But finally he did relent
Up and to the bathroom he went

He would come back out in great haste
“Return it” said the girl with a look of distaste
And the next morning he went back to the store
But the tale of Tristan’s shorts shall live in lore
