Just Realized...

Canadians were the MVPs in baseball (Justin Morneau) and basketball (Steve Nash) last year.

Fuckin' eh?!

Well I sure hope Morneau wins the Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada's athlete of the year.

Getting the MVP in baseball is an amazing feat, and Morneau is most deserving especially putting out the numbers he did. Can't really think of any other Canadian athlete that stood out either... maybe Sidney Crosby.

I recall Larry Walker was disgruntled when he won the NL MVP in 1997, but they gave the Lou Marsh trophy to Jacques Villeneuve... sniped that he'd lost out to a car. (He won it the following year though.)

Wouldn't want MORNeau in MOURNing.
