The Trench Coat

Perhaps one of the greatest if not coolest coats ever created. Initially designed as military rain coats used by the French and English in World War I, they would become very popular soon after by civilians. Movies such as Casablanca greatly contributed to success of the garment during the World War era. A typical trench coat is a ten-buttoned, double-breasted long coat made with tan, khaki, beige, or black fabric, but what really distinguishes the coat is its length as it generally reaches an individual’s knee. Let me explain the wonders of the trench coat, for those of you who do not know.

The coat is extremely flexible in all weather conditions. The material, is light weight, can withstand cold blasts of wind, and is water resistant. The coat can be equipped with additional lining to withstand even the coldest of Canadian winters.

It looks cool

It’s the perfect coat to give to “damsels in distress”. When a woman is feeling cold (partly due to lack of clothing) the length of the coat will cover the damsel’s legs keeping her not only warm, but looking sharp as well!

Its pockets. The deep pockets everywhere, make it the perfect article of clothing for storing lighters, cell phones, cigarillos, wallets, flasks, or whatever people put in pockets.

The intimidation factor, since the Columbine massacre, and movies like the Matrix, and X-Men, you don’t know who you are messing with… for all you know he’s packing heat!

Does a great job at covering up skinniness.

It feels great to wear, especially when wind hits it.

The purpose of this post was to spice up this blog, and was formed in my head while at work, alas too many customers with too many transactions to make that possible… until now. Enjoy, and be sure to buy a trench coat (with those Gold TD Visas!)

I personally feel that a midlength jacket of beige or brown colour would look best on you. It would soften and warm up your sharper facial features, while complimenting your brown hair.
A jacket that has a number of pockets and such and some padding would be best, while wearing a light colour collared shirt.
