Campbell's Scoop

Hello all...

So due to the consistent whining of my future roomies, I've finally decided to join the 125 Columbia blog. However, it is only one condition, that my poor writing skills will not be rediculed and nor my spelling. As well, the bulk of my writings will be about Liverpool FC-the only team in sports that I truly follow and love. I will post match reviews as I normally watch every game that they play. Critisism for my Liverpool will be met with utter fury and rage. Critisism for my post will also be met with fury.

Anyway thats it for now, I have a psychology final in about 4 hours and I still got one chapter to read. So enjoy this post, and expect Liverpool to rule the site.

Yours truly,
Brock

OH WOW!

YNWA !!!!

Well today's CL qualifying game eh? What a surprise..Carra SCORED! Holy crap, I have a good feeling about this season already. I can't wait for the premeirship to start.

I havn't seen the actual game yet but so i can't comment on the entire game but I found out that Baros has, once again, been left out of the squad for the game. I really hope he doesn't go...I feel that he has a lot to offer and, look, even though he may seem like a selfish striker, theres not another forward that runs as he does. He really gives it all. But once again, i must remind myself that in RAFA I TRUST and if the boss feels that there must be a change then so be it.

But all in all, looks like its gonna be a great season and I can't wait for Gerrard to plant one past Chelski and ManYoo.

YNWA!!!

ps: are u a Waterloo student?

Hahaha. First off, no I'm a UWO student ;)

And yes, I don't want Baros to leave either... he's been playing well in the pre-season games. But since Rafa has been holding out on playing him in the CL games, it brings up questions. Just because the minute Baros plays for Liverpool, his value goes down since he can't play for another team in the CL until next year... So I have no idea what will happen :S

Haha, and I was listening to the commentary live online, and was estatic when Carra scored :D

Anyway, cross your fingers for a good season... ;)

Hello

OK, you listened to the game online? Wow, i'm sensing a fellow fanatic here! I usually download the games (using bit-torrent), thats how I get to watch the games.

Ok, on the issue of Baros, I understand that his value will go down if he plays. But the thing is that I don't want him to leave. Period. I think its important that we have at least four, quality, fit forwards. I know that I've left out speedy Pongolle and Neil Mellor, but comeon now, Baros is a different class. I like Baros, but if Rafa says that he should leave I feel we need a replacement. As well, I heard that we've slapped a 7 million tag on him. Thats it??!
We paid that much for Crouch! Ok I did watch the game againts Olympiakos and although I was impressed, Baros should be at least 10 million. It seems that we're a little bit TOO keen to let him go.

Ok, another thing. Have you been keeping track of Figo's situation? Do you remember a while back when we were interested in him and Real Madrid wouldn't let him go for free? Remember what that guy said? Apperently, Liverpool was his "dream" move. Now that Real has finally agreed to let him go, Inter Milan jumps in and guess what, Figo is having second thoughts about the Reds. I say, screw him! We don't need players who don't really want to come to the Kop.

But anyway, thats it for now. What are your views on the transfers so far and who else do you think should join?

Heh, I love how excited you are to be talking to a fellow fan (or at least, you seem to be) :D

Yeah, I'm an e-season ticket holder, so I get to listen (and watch some) matches live... I usually do that when it's not being shown on TV.

Yeah, I really don't want Baros to leave either... but the fact that Rafa is doing stuff to hold up his value, makes me think that he may well be sold. However, I agree that we need a few strikers to rotate, and I like the bunch that we have. I mean, Baros, Cisse, Morientes, and Crouch (as well as the few others) all seem to be rotating well and all playing well together. And with Liverpool's great (*note: that's sarcasm*) injury history, I believe it'd be nice to have such a quality player at least on the bench.

I think that as long as Baros doesn't want to go, why sell him? There may be other excellent strikers on the market, and we would probably get a lot of money for him, but still.... The fans like him and he seems to really like Liverpool. Plus he's really been playing well in the other pre-season matches, so it would be a disappointment to see him go.

Anyway, we'll have to wait and see.

As for Figo... It'd be interesting to have him on the team because he is a class player, but if he doesn't want to come, then so be it... Rafa could probably find a few other quality players for the same price.

Now... what were you thinking when all that talk about Owen coming back was going on? (I don't think he will because Rafa really waved it off)

Anyway I should really get going...

(hey by the way, do you know anywhere where I can find a Czech jersey? At least a men's small?? I need a small or smaller than that... but I'll settle for a men's small. I've been looking everywhere because I want a Baros one, and haven't had any luck at all!)

Hello

Are you kidding? Yea of course I'm excited to be talking to a fellow Red. Do you know how long its been since the last time I've had a conversation with someone who appreciates the Reds as much as I do? You see, I'm used to live in South Africa and ever since I was 10 I've been following the Reds. Back in SA, the nation is pretty much divided into two, those for the Devils and those for the Reds. Naturally a lot of debating happens and since the year 2000 I have been deprived of those wonderful arguments. lol. So yeah, its great to talk about Liverpool and have someone actually reply with some knowledge. hehe.

Ok on the Owen issue; when I first heard that Owen might have been interested in a return to the premiership, i swear my heart skipped a beat. But then when I heard that he might be joining Manchester United, I nearly had a heart attack! If Owen were indeed to return to England, I really don't see him going anywhere else but Liverpool. If he did consider the Devils or Chelski, I'm sure a few Owen shirts burned will make him reconsider...lol. But we must remember that Owen hasn't himself confirmed anything and above all else, he seems committed to Real so I don't think hes coming back anytime soon. BUT, if he were interested, why not? I mean the guy has above all one of the meanest goal records in the premiership and hes got experience with him. No need to adapt to anything. But it seems that Rafa was interested in Crouch when the Owen rumour was going on so I'm thinking that the boss has some other plans. Although I was really saddened by him leaving last summer, I believe that we should respect his decision. I mean he's not doing all that bad in Spain and with Real's new coach, he seems to be getting more time. I mean, this Robihno guy that they're bringing in, although he's a forward, he plays in the same style as Ronaldhino so I don't really see him as a true competitor for Owen. For some reason, I have a feeling that Owen is going to tear up La Liga this season. If he does, I'm happy for him but if truly wants to return to England, it better be Liverpool FC. He's sensible, he'll choose the Reds but of course, if he need a little reassurance, I'm sure a few shirt burning incidents won't be a problem.

Brock
ps. Regarding the Baros shirt, I'm sorry to say that I wouldn't know either. I'm thinking maybe ordering from Europe or even e-bay? Not sure if you've already tried that.
