Giving Thanks

In America it is the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

This morning on the Today Show, they were discussing that all too often we are too wrapped up in our travails and emotions and the drama/sitcom that is life to reflect on things for which we should be truly grateful.

Things got me thinking about the things I am thankful for:

I am thankful to God for endowing me with intelligence and decent looks, and for putting me with a good family in a great country.

I am thankful to have been blessed with good health and wellbeing, and to have avoided injury and serious illness all through life.

I am thankful that I live in the present day and age, at a time of unsurpassed wealth and prosperity, in a society where all people are treated fairly.

I am thankful to have a supportive family who nurtured and encouraged me from an early age.

I am thankful to have met good people through my life, people who have shaped my perspective and impacted positively on me, and people to whom I have hopefully reciprocated.

I am thankful to have a sunny, radiant, and optimistic outlook on life, that I am able to see the lighter side of things, and to have a good-humoured and good-natured personality.

I am thankful to the United States for giving me the opportunity to jumpstart my career.

And finally, I am thankful to my country, Canada, for giving me an unparalleled opportunity to pursue my talents and dreams, and without which none of the above would be possible.

and I'm thankful to be the first one to comment :p

God Bless America, for their music triumps overall, and compensates their crappy beer.
