A "Grizzly" Sight

Ever hold someone in affection, only to later discover a facet of them that completely repulses you to them? So much so that you can never look at them in the same light again?

So after a long evening at the office, my colleague Ryan and I hit Atlantic Pizza, a nice little Greek-owned pizza parlour here in downtown Stamford.

Behind the counter, as always, was Anastasia. Well, Anastasia is not her real name – I don’t know what it is – but it’s the monicker I came up for her because she looks like an Anastasia. She’s short, Meditteranean, in her late teens/early 20s, kinda portly, wears those hoochie silver hoop earrings, and IMO, bears a likeness (at least facially) to Kaitlin of the O.C.

Anastasia is as every waitress should be... or so I’d thought. Always serves with a smile, bubbly, even borderline flirtatious as only a spritely little Gina can be.

So Ryan and I order our wraps (which are really popular down here), and, after a wait of five minutes, we proceed to the counter pick up our order. And, as the cheery girl behind the counter hands my change, I get a close look at Anastasia’s arms for the very first time.

It should have come with a disclaimer.

I had never seen so much hair on a woman in my entire life. And I know brown girls! I swear, this girl had more hide on her arms than James and Smiley have on their entire bodies... cumulatively! The contrast of the furry hide with her olive skin accentuated the hair all the more.

As much as I hate to critique something over an aspect beyond one's control... My gahd, I would surely wear long sleeves. All the more so if I was in the food services industry. Try electrolysis, threading... anything!
