HAPPY HALLOWEEN

This year, I'm handing out Lehman Brothers stock certificates to the kiddies.

A video that'll bring the chills...

It's no secret that McCain is no prize pig and he will be a continuation of Bush, plunging the US into the dark ages.

Why do people think Obama will be any different? He can sure talk the talk, but can he walk the walk? Obama may have promised to pull the troops out of Iraq, but he has said he is willing to attack Iran. He is a major player in globalism and the new world order and his stance on illegal immigration is a joke. The US government is only interested in satisfying the needs of large corporations and Israel. Yes, I said it. Someone needs to.

Until the American public rebels against its own government, nothing will ever change in that cesspool of a country.

It's like choosing whether to die by a slow, painful death of starvation versus a quick bullet in the mouth.

Why Obama scares me:

WELFARE

Obama is a socialist. Obama says he will decrease taxes for 95% of working families; however, his "tax cuts" are in the form of refundable tax credits, so that even the 40% percent of Americans who don't pay any income tax are eligible. Because he is getting the money for these credits by raising taxes on the 5% of population who make over $250,000 (thus increasing marginal tax rates and diminishing economic incentives to earn more i.e. joe the plumber), his tax pledge is essentially a massive wealth transfer.

UNIONS

Obama is pro-union. He wants to end the secret ballot in favour of the card-based system of certification.

TRADE

Obama is a protectionist. He has made comments about renegotiating NAFTA. This may just be hot air for political purposes (i.e. see above...pro-union) but the general mindset is not a good one, especially in times of economic turmoil as history teaches us. The Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act under Hoover essentially quashed trade when comparative advantages would have been most advantageous, thereby prolonging the Great Depression.

Let's hope we don't see Obama turn what should be a mild recession into a lenghty depression.

re: TAXES.

Tired of the mantra of trickle-down economics. Too bad if the rich won't have enough now for another yacht or a vacation in Tahiti. And I'm sure they have clever accountants who'll figure out how to funnel some of that money to the Cayman Islands. What we ought to do is put more money in the pockets of working stiffs who'll actually spend that extra money on food, utilities, consumer goods and services... things that actually drive the economy. What these numbnuts fail to understand is that the MAJORITY of taxpayers will reap MORE tax savings under Obama's tax plan than under McCain's.

Even Warren Buffet commented that he was in a lower tax bracket than his secretary. That's messed up.

And Mike, you're far too pessimistic man. America's going through some tough times, but it'll bounce back with sound leadership.

Sen, I agree with your point about taxes. It's better for the economy to have a solid and stable middle class than to have a small number of people who don't know what to do with all of their money have even more money that they don't know what to do with!

Regarding pessism Sen, both canditates are going to allow the North American Union to happen. Both canditates have Israel, not America, at the forefront of their interests. Expect a war with Iran and more money lost out of the economy. The only way Americans will get their country back is by excercising their second amendment for the reason it was given to them in the first place. Nevertheless, there's nothing we can do to change it. Election time is coming soon. Sit back and watch, pray for the best, prepare for the worst.

Apparently pants and potato chips count towards GDP but yachts don't? If "working stiffs" want money in their pockets then maybe they should become yacht-salesmen.

There's a hole in your logic in the form of tax leakage. Higher tax rates will only further incite people to shelter their money in tax havens. But Obama is counting on the increase in higher bracket revenue to fund his tax credit scheme.

If the tax brackets were more "equitable" then the rich wouldn't have to funnel their money out of the country in the first place and that capital would be available for investment.

Also, the majority of taxpayers will not reap MORE tax savings since if you don't pay any taxes to begin with then how can you save on your taxes further? Choose your words wisely Sen; my nuts work fine...I don't think you understand.

I was about to say the same thing about tax havens. There was this game-thoery computer game called Democracy, where you are in control of a country. If you raised taxes to much, the rich, always A. found tax havens, tax schemes, or B. simply left your country decreasing your population, and tax genereation. I recommend playing this game.

Sen I just think Smiley just pwoned you!

We have to be realistic here, we need rich people because they innovate, taxing them too heavily will only discourage them, and the only place to benefit from all this are those Camyman Islands...

"Rich" organizations like Nintendo for instance invest more money into research and development then that of most countries. Look at the innovations that this company alone has come up with. There's a reason why Socialism fails, human beings are incapable of fairly distributing wealth.

If you walk around Boston with a Yankees hat and get pummeled for it, do you keep wearing the same hat?

Tonight, the American people spoke up. :)

I'm just glad this election is over. I'm sick of hearing about it. Congrats to Obama!

By the way, did anyone else see those bulletproof shields on the stage when he was giving his speech last night?
